During the ancient Greek colonisation of southern Italy 2500 years ago, coastal towns in which processing fish became popular, were called Taricheiai (in Greek) or Cetaria (in Latin). Near to Vietri Sul Mare is Cetara.  A small fishing village, where the ancient style of fish processing continues to this day by Delfino Battista.

Only a few kilometers away from the city of Salerno, Cetara is one of the least reliant on tourism of all the towns on Italy’s UNESCO-listed Amalfi Coast &, perhaps, for this reason, also the most authentic fishing villages in the Campania region. Its artisan producers of anchovies have contributed to the fame of this delicacy all over the world, educating palates & making people understand what a high-quality product should really taste like.

In Cetara Delfino Battista are the lead producers of anchovies, following generations-old traditional recipes. All their products are strictly free of preservatives & chemical additives to maintain the highest quality & natural taste.
