The name Corleto means ‘happy hearth’ in the local dialect. The vines are located 150m-210m asl on a south, south west exposure.
Vinification: The grapes are hand picked and the must is fermented in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. It is aged for a year in San Salvatore’s cellars in 35hl French oak barrels and after a year of ageing it is blended, and then aged for a further six months in the bottle.
The wine is ruby red in appearance. On the nose there are scents of currants, raspberries and dark plums. On the palate it has a full body, rich in dark berries and a long finish.
The wine contains very low levels of sulphites which have been produced by the natural activity of the yeasts during fermentation and no added sulphites were added to the production.

Serving Temperature: 14-16 °C.
Food Match: Like all Aglianico’s, it is a wine that is well suited to red meat, game and meaty pasta dishes.
